About

Since it’s beginning in 2005, Alison Sarah has been charming the fashion scene with individually handcrafted pieces which have a focus on vintage - through the fabrics, cuts and trims; and on ethics - in relation to the environment and fair trade; and also offers a custom design and made to measure service.

The fabrics used in Alison Sarah designs have been collected over a number of years and include vintage, rare cuts and recycled pieces. The use of these vintage, found and recycled fabrics is not only about a love for unique materials, but is also an environmentally conscious choice.

Utilizing the fabrics that are already around helps to reduce the waste levels that discarded clothing and fabrics creates, as well as limiting demand for new materials to be created, therefore cutting the emissions, pollution, energy consumption and requirement of raw materials that the clothing industry is responsible for.

Alison Sarah is also focused on ensuring items are priced so that the crafts-persons that create them are fairly paid. While this is a one woman show to date, this allows for future expansion of fairly paid employees as well.

"I hope to create beautiful things that come from my heart - to not just make more 'stuff' to fill up the planet" - Kate Hurst, Designer
